Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the names of its two new industry leading Freestyle Cruising ships: Norwegian Breakaway, sailing April 2013, and Norwegian Getaway, sailing April 2014. Each of the 144,017 gross ton vessels, the largest passenger cruise ships to be built in Germany, will have approximately 4,000 passenger berths and a rich cabin mix. Check back often for updated information on all things related to Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway.
The overall design theme for Project Breakaway’s staterooms is “modern boutique hotel meets the sea”. The needs of guests were strongly considered when designing these staterooms. Guests will be greeted with an ambiance that is warm and inviting and has a very contemporary feel with clean, modern lines.
Norwegian Breakaway & Norwegian Getaway
Norwegian Cruise Line has selected the winning names: Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway.
The names best invoked the feeling that these ships will provide a “break” at sea from the stress of everyday life.
The contest winners are Kimberly Powell of Lafayette, LA, who first submitted Norwegian Breakaway, and Dennis Hultman of Vienna, VA, who first submitted Norwegian Getaway.
